Hiten Shah is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of KissMetrics, a customer engagement automation platform designed to help truly understand the behaviours of customer-base and drive higher levels of engagement.

Education

Hiten Shah earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational behaviour from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003.

Early career

Shah met Neil Patel, his business partner through Patel’s sister Amee, who Shah was dating at the time.  Shah married Amee. At the time, Shah was just graduating college and Patel was still in high school.

Shah and Patel founded Advanced Consulting Services in January 2002, an online marketing firm.  The company was implementing strategies for many Fortune 500 companies by 2007. In 2006, the two serial entrepreneurs founded their second company called Crazy Egg, analytical software which allows website owners to analyze behavior on their website through heatmaps of visitor’s clicks.

KissMetrics

Shah and Patel co-founded KissMetrics, a powerful web analytics solution that helps you to increase customer acquisition and retention rates, make smarter business decisions, and boost your bottom line in December 2008.  Shah was the CEO of KissMetrics until December 2014 but remained as one of the Board Members until May 2015.

KissMetrics has gained recognition from Fast Company, Forbes, Mashable, Techcrunch, The Atlantic, and The Wall Street Journal.  KissMetrics is constantly named as one of the top analytics solutions on the market. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California, and is supported by a syndicate of angels and early stage funds, including Polaris Ventures, SoftTech VC, and True Ventures.  KissMetrics has increased more than $4 million in venture capital and currently has over 1,300 paying customers.

Quick Sprout

In March 2015, Shah co-founded Quick Sprout, a SaaS company that develops software which benefits people who are creating content to boost their traffic and conversions.  Quick Sprout was originally started in early 2008 by Neil Patel’s personal blog that has expanded to over 500,000 readers every month. Over the years, Patel strengthened Quick Sprout into one of the leading sites for online marketing.

Today, Quick Sprout is managed by Lars Lofgren and Corry Cummings.  Their objective is to help people grow their traffic, business, and marketing career.

Product Habits

In January 2017, Shah also co-founded Product Habits, a weekly email newsletter where he shares links every week and focuses on teaching people on how to create high growth products that people will surely love.  

FYI

In May 2018, Shah co-founded FYI, a search that organizes all your documents in one place.  It takes the stress out of documents so that everyone can get their work done. FYI is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Hiten Shah has begun multiple SaaS companies since 2005 and is an active advisor/investor in startups.  Shah enjoys accommodating other people to succeed in business and in life. Shah beforehand co-founded and CEO of KissMetrics and KissInSights (Qualaroo) and Board Member at iSocket.  Shah is still currently co-founded Crazy Egg, Product Habits, and FYI.
